Racing Divisions Now Appearing at Flamboro Speedway...

Grisdale Late Models  - 2011 Track Champion "The King of Speed" #82 Jason Shaw
Specs: Open to any make and model North American built car from the last 10 years. Minimum wheel base of 105” as factory listed for that make and model of the body being run. The cars are fabricated from the firewall to the rear section of the car. Some engine modifications are permitted on built motors, but the majority of the competitors are now running a GM Crate Motor - a motor built specifically for racing that is sealed at the factory. The Crate Motor program has helped to rebuild Late Model racing in Ontario by lowering the cost of racing and by making the racing field more equally powered.
Late Model racing is the premier regular division at Flamboro Speedway, headlining the Saturday night show.  The Late Model division also competes in a 3-race summer series called the Triple Crown Tournament, an open invitational to outside track rivals.

Thunder Cars - 2011 Track Champion: "The Ice Man" #13 Brad Collison
Specs: Open to any make or model North American built 2 or 4 door sedan with a minimum wheel base of 108”.  Engines are to be completely stock for that year of car.  A larger carburetor makes Thunder Cars faster than the former Street Stock class, and load bolts allow the setup of the car to be modified more easily so that the cars handle better.  Thunder Cars also run on a racing tire, giving them more grip than a regular street tire.  The Thunder Car division is packed full of talented drivers, rising through the racing ranks and honing their skills.  Each weekend the Thunder Car class puts on one of the best racing shows seen anywhere.

Mini Stocks - 2011 Champion: "The Indomitable" #31 Dave Bailey
Specs: 4 cylinder stock cars, front and rear wheel drive allowed, all stock parts. The class is intended to take a four cylinder production car, install a roll cage and go racing. This intended simplicity makes the Mini Stock division a great one for new racers to learn, is great for low budget hobby racing and has made the Mini Stocks the fastest growing division in Ontario.  Because of their size and competitive spirit it is not unusual to watch the Mini Stocks go three and even four cars wide through the tight corners of Flamboro Speedway, an action that would be suicide for most other divisions.  The Mini Stocks are the only class at Flamboro Speedway to regularly start 30 cars in their feature field.
